Head Start English Language Support Staff (Chuukese Language Translator)
Regular Part-time/Non-Exempt; 40 hours per week – 9-10 months per year
Salary: $16.00-$17.00 per hour based on experience
Prairie Five Head Start currently has an English Language Support Staff position open in Appleton, MN. The English Language Support Staff is responsible for assisting bilingual students and parents with language and understanding. The English Language Support Staff is also responsible for assisting in interpreting at Parent Teacher Conferences, participating in group circle time, music, stories, physical education, lessons, etc., assisting teachers with understanding cultural differences and working with all children to encourage socialization between English and non-English speaking children.

Chippewa County Food Shelf Support Staff
Part-time (20-25 hours per week) with the possibility of going full time
Salary: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
This position will work with the Chippewa County Food Shelf. Responsibility will be to gain increased support for the food shelf through volunteer and community engagement; oversee daily food shelf operations and recruit/schedule/train volunteers. Responsibility for all of the above-related activities will be under the direction of the Prairie Five Meals Director.

Part-time Transit Driver
Regular Part-time/Non-exempt
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Work involves operating a public transit bus/van, transporting passengers, and maintaining communication with clients and Dispatch by using cell phone and Bluetooth devices. Qualified candidates will have a valid state drivers’ license, a commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement (or the ability to obtain) for BUS driving, a good driving record, and good customer service skills. Successful candidate will be expected to know and be able to drive in more than one part of the service area. While successful candidates will be driving primarily in their assigned garage location (Appleton, Benson, Canby, Dawson, Granite Falls, Madison, Montevideo, or Ortonville), they will be expected to be able to drive in at least one other city (bus drivers) as well as be able and willing to drive regionally from other locations. Prairie Five RIDES service area: Cities of Appleton, Benson, Canby, Dawson, Granite Falls, Madison, Montevideo, Ortonville and the five-county region (Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift, and Yellow Medicine) as well as Willmar, St. Cloud, and Marshall and into the Twin Cities on occasion.

Prairie Five Head Start currently has a Family Resource and Community Services Coordinator position open for the counties of Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift and Yellow Medicine in Minnesota. The Family Resource and Community Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing family resources and community support services provided by Prairie Five CAC Inc. The Family Resource and Community Services Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that address the needs of low-income individuals and families.

Prairie Five Head Start currently has a Health Coordinator position open in Madison, MN. The Health Coordinator is responsible for being the contact person for medical and dental health concerns. The Health Coordinator will work closely with Family Services and Countryside Public Health on health and safety issues. The Health Coordinator is also responsible for providing staff with parent or health-related educational materials to use on home visits, arranging training for staff in Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid/CPR, Mandated Reporting, Civil Rights, Shaken Baby, Harassment, CACFP, and other health related topics annually, or as needed.
